I actually find it really sneaky they haven’t made it a public fault. Instead they’re hoping they save some money on people who won’t return their faulty controllers.

I hope so but perhaps some expectation management is needed. I was super hyped when I 1st saw it but then I thought about it. The quest is powered by a potato. I imaging it will not be insignificant amount of compute to track hands well . The early feedback would seem to reflect this. At moment it is good but not great and is no leap motion yet.
I would not be surprised if this quest 1 version is only good for very basic stuff (though flicking nobs on a HUD is just that). Total tracking to say fire a gun in an fpser tho, I think that will be for next gen and be it knuckles or touch I think they will sti be needed for most games.

It is still interesting news however imo

Yup, and as I've already mentioned it's worth buying a Rift S just for the head strap and eye relief for me personally. I'm happy with my Rift S and am glad I've got it. I can't live without that head strap now and will be VERY disappointed if the CV2 doesn't have one.

I’m just happy there’s a good selection of headset updates available now.

None of them are perfect and I doubt they ever will be as it’s always subjective what people place priorities on in selecting an HMD. If they could actually make one that could tick every box, it would cost thousands at this point.

Sorry for being a bit lazy, but i was trying to keep half an eye on the oculus shows, and i caught something about some oculus go games being upgraded for free to quest?

I had a Go a while ago, and want to one day get a quest, so this caught my ears.

How is the free upgrade actually activated? and whens the whole thing start?
