Sadly there seems to be a lot of fake cards around and never suggested it as I assumed you had tried more than one, good you got a refund for it. Hopefully when you get your new card it will all be okay.

You are correct, I did try more than one, one was SanDisk the other Samsung, fake or real, who knows nowadays !!! Anyway, the SD card which is on order is a genuine Samsung, approved by themselves, so if I still have the issue, it will be Plan C and  the D and then E !!!!

Ok, so final update (I hope) on this issue.

My new Samsung Evo Select 256gb micro sd card arrived today.

I've successfully  downloaded all my movies to the sd card and they work fine.

So it looks like it was the sd card which was the issue.

This time round, I wasnt taking any chances and tried to purchase direct from Samsung  UK, but they are out of stock and their recommended  place of purchase is Maplins (so that's well out of date).  So I went on to the Samsung Live chat and asked them were to purchase and they sent me a link on Amazon, being sold by Amazon themselves.

Interestingly, I found out that the Samsung  Evo Plus is the more common red sd card, but there was also another link to the Samsung  Evo Select, after research there is absolutely  no difference at all except one is red and the other is green.  The green one is exclusively  sold by Amazon, so I got that one, as Amazons refunds, replacements etc are excellent with no quibble.

So hopefully, I'm now good to go and this card will stay working.

Thanks for your help and advice (Techquest).

Good to know you got there and it's also useful info for others on here who might come across this issue. With all the fakes out there then I guess there will be more cases in future, so it was good to get involved. It's also good you provided the feedback as others on here seem not to think about doing that.

Hope it all goes well from hereon.
