I have a couple of these from years ago. spent a couple days looking at upgrading from gingerbread to KitKat or lollipop.

However, trawling the web for files to upgrade and root it seem to be infected and Windows Defender warns me.

Has anyone managed to upgrade this tablet to KitKat or Lollipop and if so has the files required to do so that are clean ?

The rom here in this guide came up clean with eset av.

Much of the software surrounding it is now dead even cyanogenmod, some half baked rom on the net could contain anything embedded within the android os itself that no av would pick up.
