Hello,
We had (tell me about it ) a Samsung tab 10.1 for our daughter (5yrs old) but she managed to drop it (on the carpet!) a few times. Even though there is no visible damage to the screen, looks like it's gone! Because a replacement screen is a £100, I'd rather buy a 7/8" tablet for her.
Can you recommend us a tablet resistant enough to little abuse from a kid, please?
WiFi, good battery and with memory slot would do the job for us.
Thanks a lot in advance.

my kids are addicted to their kindle fire for kids tablets, you get a free years subscription to hundreds of apps and videos .  Its just superb and they can use it without accidentally messing with the wrong settings etc due to the unique interface.  Oh and its got a no quibble 2 year warranty I believe.

Sorry for hijacking your thread @kokolino23

@djcla I just ordered a Fire 7" tablet for my kid to replace a faulty Hudl (just out of warranty and the 2nd failed Hudl I've had). It was an impulse purchase and since realised it doesn't have Google Play Store. Have you side-loaded this by any chance? Just want to make sure it works as my kid uses Google Hangouts all the time.

Another vote for the kindle fire - really good spongey case, our 2.5 year old has thrown his across the room several times and still going strong... With the 2 yr no questions asked guarantee, it's pretty well covered.

Would recommend the non-hd version though as we got the HD one, I doubt it makes much difference at that age, and the non HD version has bigger storage and might even take so cards.

They also come with parental Co troll so kids can only use the apps you install and you can set limits on how many hours per day they can watch video / play games etc.

Like the above comment said, it doesn't have full google play support but if you have prime you get access to a bunch of video content.
