Smartwatch as exact extension of phone

I have a non-lte galaxy watch. Occasionally I go running with just my watch and it would be nice to still be connected. I spoke to someone with the LTE version recently. They explained that the sim in the watch is a different number to the one in their phone. I expected this to be the case but wondered if it's possible to have an LTE smartwatch that has the same number and just acts as an extension of your phone?

You need a watch and provider that does esims.

The only providers that seems to do it at the moment is EE.
