Well nothing set in stone but I decided to google lr6 before buying lr5 to see if there is any release date yet. There is not but all the rumour websites seem to think it will be out this summer.

Might be BS but if it's true I wouldn't be happy if I spend £50 now on lr5 and then lr6 would be out soon after

Do Adobe not have the same policy as Microsoft whereby if you purchase a near end of life os for eg, they will allow you a free/cheap upgrade once the new version is released?

Interesting, worth keeping an eye out. As above, is it not worth contacting adobe and saying that you're looking at buying LR and hear that there could be an upgrade coming out soon and raising the question whether they would give you a free upgrade if that happened within a couple of months of you buying LR5?

Never thought about it. I'll send them an email once home. I don't think they'll tell me much but at least I'll ask them if they do stuff like that.

Thanks for the idea

The big rumour I noticed was LR6 being released on the Creative Cloud first.

Saturday sunrise photo trip stats.

Time: ~11 hours (left home 1.45am, back 12:30pm)
Miles driven: 250
Coffees: 8
Sandwiches: 4
Chocolate bars: 2
Bananas: 2
Steps: ~6800 (3.3 miles walked)
Pictures taken: 185
Keepers: few (not sure yet)
Location potential (1-5): ★★★☆☆ (not sure if I'll be coming back in the same spot)
Sunrise rating (1-5): ★☆☆☆☆ (no sunrise, rain and complete cloud cover)
Tiredness level (1-5): ★★★★★ (2 hours of sleep, came back completely knackered)
Trip overall rating (1-5): ★★★☆☆ (still enjoyed it)
Comments: Even though there was no visible sunrise, the rain stopped soon after and the clouds were quite dramatic-looking. Sunny later.

Some free advice... most of it is common sense, but still worth watching IMO
