Hi thanks for replying. How do the Gmail notifications actually reach your watch? i.e through which app on your watch as I can't actually find the Gmail app itself on the watch.

I think it's just a standard built in notification, similar to how text messages always pop up too.
Thinking about it I suppose the Wear OS has a general notification app built in and phone notifications use this meaning dedicated apps aren't required on the watch.

Ah ok, thanks mate that makes sense. I've just had one come through now so maybe I had switched something off or the watch was playing up, either way it seems ok now although if you hadn't said I would still be searching for the app icon!

Didn't help myself probably that I was expecting to actually see the Gmail app icon on my phone (like the outlook watch app I had to download but probably different as it's a MS app not google) but as you said obviously not necessary.
