Hello there I'm thinking of getting a new wearable tech fitness type tracker. And I liked the Microsoft band 2 dashboard online on a pc especially...where it has a comparison page on the website. The only problem being the bands battery being a bit naff i see. This makes me think maybe another band might be better. Is there other software that does this type of comparing (Microsofts seems to show you the averages of people with your body type) ? I know there is compare to friends in many apps but I'm talking about detailed comparisons of many things instantly as an average..very handy but is there alternatives? I suppose fitbit might be the best chance but I've not seen anything so far...our even maybe a new band is coming soon? Thanks!

Not yet still a bit stuck I see fitbits software looks nicer I like the advice you get in premium but watch and premium end up being twice as much as the band 2 with fee software and Microsoft seen to be doing more updates. The other final thing I'm debating is both seem to have hate rate monitors that don't work over about 150bpm which I'm wondering if matters to someone like me who's just starting out with low level exercise...difficult. Especially with the Garmin hr coming too but it's a bit of a way off...

I'm on my phone so can't go in depth. But I have owned a few, garmin,Fitbit,Sony and Apple Watch.. All have plus but all have had issues I could not live with if you have a question specific to ask give me a try. I now own band 2 admittedly only a few days. The software is great and downloading your own guided work out is fantastic if a little tricky to understand at first.. Or you can download a set workout designed by the professionals. The set and stair counting works a treat. The heart rate issue is for me it peaks at a high rate and I need more time to look into this. GPs works good so far I ride a electric unicycle a lot which as a max speed of 14mph the band was with in a .5 limit which was impressive. Right the bad is it is big on the clasp and I am still unsure which way up to wear it. The battery life is pants but for me at the moment liveable because I charge first thing when I get up before a shower as it nots waterproof not had it run out of bat yet but bat is not ideal. Charging at the moment is hit and miss for some reason once it charged within the hour and half stated and other times took longer. So quick update on band 2. Ask away about the Fitbit charge hr or flex or garmin vivoactive.

Yes hmm well the new Garmin hr comes out in May I think and I think it will have accurate heart rates at high bpm. And if the software's as good as fitbit and Microsoft possibly that's worth the wait. But if the bad heart rate monitoring didn't matter much maybe the wait isn't so important...

The band 2 ain't to bad and only tested for a few gym session I will be testing it with hit intervals next week and should be able to make a more informed take on it.

Yes well it might just be at extreme bpms 150  the reviews were using chest straps to test against so I assume it was a fair test though it could possibly be the chest strap being different too...but not likely I guess.

Are you planning on hitting high Bpm for a sustained time? What garmin with hr is it? Not one fitness band as been spot on like a chest strap for me the best has been the Apple Watch but still not great like a hr strap.

apple watch has a HR monitor ah i see it does i didn't hear great things about it. No I guess I wont be doing mega excercise straight away but im no expert at heart rates so fast jogging can hit 150  bpm? Im talking this one:                                   I suppose it just depends on if the software is any good or maybe its not so great compaired with fitbit n microsoft... well just had a look and the garmin app looks not too bad but not as good as fitbit or microsoft possibly. and I cant seem to get onto the garmin PC software without a watch hmmm. I particularly like the insight or comparison stuff I guess and its nice adding water n food intake... so tricky!

From a distance it looks like fitbit premium is the best then microsoft but ill pay twic as much for fitibit :S and function wise the microsoft looks better....tricky tricky
