What to replace Lumix GF1 with

For me one of the main improvements from a larger sensor is more flexibility when processing raw files which is why I asked if you use raw, if you're shooting jpeg only I think there's less advantage moving to a larger sensor particularly when the 4/3 sensor in the Panasonic is close to the size of the APS-C sensor in the Sony.

Although it gets a lot of criticism I think the Sony 16-50mm is a really handy little lens well suited to the compact Sony body but beyond that I find it frustrating there's very few compact lens options, particularly like the tiny Panasonic 20mm F1.7 lens.  

It sounds like another Panasonic m4/3 camera will be a good choice and certainly worth handling one to try it out first if you can.

Thank you for the advice. I prefer the ‘look’ of the Sony but as I have m4/3 currently I think it’s a no brainer really. Between the GX80 and GX9.

I had a GX80 and it was a good camera.  What lets it dows and well as the GX9 is the EVF.  Have a google to see what people say.  May not be a deal breaker if EVF is not important to you

What did I replace it with, used Fuji X-T20

I did get the GX80 in the end and am very happy with it though not used it much yet. I do use the EVF but maybe because I’m used to the GF1 attachable EVF I don’t see an issue with it - the bonus being, of course, that I don’t have to attach it now!

Hi.  They change the codes so better you have a look on the website see what offers they have on now.

And if you still looking... But don't want to spend a fortune...I have a boxed mint Panasonic GX7 in classifieds cheap!
