A Movie That Would Make Rudy Ray Moore Proud

"Dolemite is My Name" is a loving tribute to one of the most outrageous and unique personalities of the 1970's. Eddie Murphy practically channels a man who helped pave the way for his own career. Knowledge of the films of Rudy Ray Moore might be a prerequisite for enjoying this film, but even if you haven't seen his work it's still a fun, bawdy, feel good kinda movie. As a fan of the series I'm also glad that Lady Reed (Queen Bee) was given such big role. And who knew D'urville Martin was such a primadonna? Now if only someone would make a biopic of Redd Foxx that was this good.
