Farrell scored 15 points 5 points more than the next player. Not good enough? Sexton scored 4 points and as they are the only two FHs in the squad ,it seems rather fatuous to dismiss one off the back of the 1st performance in dreadful conditions Wilko will join the tour quite soon so he will give further options and may well make the test team.
Saracens have 3 top quality FHs in their squads so can run a rotation policy. Farrell  can play either 10 or 12  as well so its not a question of him not being good enough

5 what? You still haven't pointed me to where I mentioned Biggar being on the tour instead of Farrell, so please enlighten me?

No he isn't good enough. A Barbarians side that were, basically, crap. They have had 1-2 weeks together and are not "up for" the game as much as the Lions are bound to be - they don't have tests to focus on getting in teams for, they are established internationals for their respective countries and most are probably ready for a (well deserved) holiday.

How you can actually think that you are typing something which is even remotely close to right just shows how little you really know about the game tbh.

And it IS a question of him not being good enough, read any player ratings for the game yesterday this morning, and you will see he rates the lowest of any player on the field. He is not good enough. He never will be good enough at this level. He has been found out time and time and time again.

The only people who think otherwise are Saracens fans....and you.

I'd also like you to tell me who Saracens 3 "top quality" FHs are please? I only know of 2.....but I'm sure you have managed to go onto Saracens website and seen 3 listed or something and assumed they're "top quality" without actually watching any rugby this year. Please enlighten me.

Also, the fact that you think that this is the sole reason to pick a player is staggering. Are you sure you watch the game of rugby? It's not just about points scored.

Farrell kicked meaningless penalties, so of course he scored the most points - the Lions were getting booed for going for 3 points every time Farrell went for the posts.

Please, if you want to put up a reasoned argument then go ahead. But stop spouting rubbish.

Now you've completely lost me LGS. How is a fly half out scoring a couple of players with a brace of tries each of more merit? Even if a fly half scores the only points of a winning team it's not down just the kicker's abilities the game is won by the forwards getting the team into kicking range. As long as you've got a specialist kicker in the team then even a wing or full back can score the winning points as long as the forwards do their job.

When the backs score tries it's usually fair to say that the half backs have done their jobs well enough.

I not going to have a go at Farrell, he's young, obviously talented and should play well with a good team around him. If you want to be pedantic about your stupid quote Farrell was outscored 40 points to 15 by try scoring team mates.

Do you really understand the game of rugby union?

Tom implied Farrell is a rubbish player which clearly he isnt given the number of point he has scored over a fledgling career.I a not suggesting goal kicking as such has more merit than scoring tries but at the end of the day its about winning games which ever way , something  Wilko is very adept at.Farrell may have questions over his temperament which might make him a liability given his petulant reaction yesterday

Gatland has made 2 poor selections - both surname Farrell. Hope it doesn't come back to haunt the Lions

a mostly Irish lineuop for this game and an interesting pairing between BOD and Manu.I think the Irish undersold themselves in the 6N so i expect big things from them in this match. Heaslip for me is the nailed on test number 8 because of his experience.I think he is an awesome player

Bit late coming to the party (due to having fun), but I have to say I have nothing but respect for all the players involved last Saturday. The heat and, more importantly, humidity were terrible - and that was in the stand! I can only begin to guess what it was like on the park.

From where we sat, it was apparent that Philips completely controlled the game and was well deserving of his MoTM.

The Farrell/Brits incident was very well ref'd I thought. Initially it looked like Walsh had penalised the retaliation, as is common, the he went to the TMO and took the right decision IMO, in a "proper" game a red would be appropriate.

I thought Farrell did ok, but only ok - they didn't seem to use him as 1st receiver too often. His kicking was ok too, but if Halfpenny starts, he'll probably be #1 goal kicker.

It may have helped the BaaBaas' cause if Fotuali'i had started - he looked really sharp when he came on (admittedly against knackered players). The Ospreys will miss him next season.

On a more general note, the stadium was amazing, very well organised, as we're the police & stewards outside the ground, fit the way to the nearest MTR station. The beer was ridiculously priced, as were the shirts and other souvenirs. The pre-match & 1/2 time entertainment were great. Shame there were only just shy of 29000 people there in the 40000 stadium. Good atmosphere though.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Now on to Aus - heard 2 hours ago we have tickets organised the the Warratahs game too! Woohoo.
