Bad news...

Eric Koch is injured and out of the 153 main event against Aldo.


Good news...

Frankie Edgar is in! Looking to become only the 3rd 2 weight champ in UFC history.

I might be jumping the gun here but it wouldn't surprise me if Dana didn't just tell Koch he was "injured" and asked him to step aside.
He then gets a super fight and can use Frankie stepping in as an further example of how bad Jon Jones is.

Koch tweeted a few days ago with a message that just read "lost for words" but refused to elaborate.

I just don't believe a word Dana White says anymore.

That said, Aldo vs Frankie will be massive.

Was hoping it would be the zombie tbh taking this fight i think Edgar needs to prove himself at 145 first i dont think its fair on the other guys.

I think you're right but maybe Dana thinks that if he lets that happen, there's a chance that Edgar or Aldo could lose before they get a chance to face each other. No other matchup at FW comes close to this one in terms of hype and $.

I agree that Dana is capable of anything underhand but I think a fake injury would be very hard to get away with. Too many fighters, trainers etc to keep the story down.

Plus 153 is still 6 week's away so not really comparable with Jones.

But as I say, wouldn't put anything past him...

Boris, that's not a bad conspiracy theory.  The only thing I'd say is that Dana's always said that Edgar would need to earn his title shot.  So it's odd that he'd fast track him like this.

Still, what a fight!

Oh I agree with you on that but it doesn't stop Dana pointing out what a "warrior" Frankie is for stepping up which I see as a dig at Bones.

How do we see this fight going?
I can't see Edgar dealing with Aldo's low kicks but you never know.
