I feel your pain, got a 14 year old daughter and it's a nightmare finding somewhere to eat to keep her happy! As mentioned above  Dubai is very nice and clean, good choice of places to eat and loads of shopping malls and things to do to keep her busy. It is very expensive though so do some research before booking. Try £18 a pint in some hotels!!!

Really anywhere in the world is pretty much do able on your budget. I'd be tempted to do a multi centre holiday. How about the far east? Could do Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore? That would be an holiday to remember

We've literally just booked Sorrento, Italy with our 15 and 17 year olds.

£5K will get you a decent hotel, separate rooms and all inclusive. Weather in August will be hot, beaches and pools to lounge by and plenty to do, including Pompeii, Naples, Vesuvius etc.

Surely if you want a beach / lazy holiday then HK/Kuala Lumpar/Singapore don't really tick those boxes?

Dubai is fantastic and does have the weather and beaches but compared to a nice relaxing all inclusive in the Caribbean can work out very costly on the eating drinking front!
£20 for two milkshakes - £100   for a meal for two (at the very least) I'd imagine soon becomes a little tiring over a 2 weeks holiday for 3 of you! I absolutely love Dubai just not sure it meets the relaxing chilled out vibe you're after?

Thanks everyone, it really is much appreciated.

There's two women involved here, so now it's all changed.

Think we're gonna have two holidays now, well the daughter is having three as she's off to Amsterdam for 4 days with college, in 3 weeks. Honestly it's art and history based educational trip.

Now we're looking at 2 long weekend breaks, possibly 5 days at a push. New York and a n other european city break. There goes my relaxing bloody holiday.

Mexico.
The wife and I went last year for 3.5k all inclusive.
Plenty of trips and activities to do.
We swam with Whale Sharks and went to see Chichen Itza.  But there are loads of places that do zip lines and jungle safari type things and the food was 2nd to none !

Oh and we got caught in a thunderstorm (August) and had to take shelter in senoir Frogs.  Great food and a fantastic view of the thunderstorm over the sea.
Stayed in the Playacar region.

We've did Vegas and NY in November. Went with Virgin - if you can get the 'right' flights the return trip goes from Vegas and stops in NY before going back to the UK. We had a 3 night stop over in NY on the way back at no extra costs for the flights and just sorted our own accommodation in NY.

Cost £1500 for 5 nights in Vegas / 3 nights in NY and all flights with Virgin/American Airlines for 2 people.

Where at mate, never seen an A.I in Dubai - Its something that'd certainly interest me when we go again even if its just for a bit of breakfast / evening meal and a few drinks at night.

Whilst scanning the details, I did notice very few places actually provided all inclusive.
