Ryan Air Tips For Sitting Together

Makes me laugh. Why on earth would you want to get on the plane early and sit in misery for longer than necessary. When they open the gate and everyone rushes into the plane I don't get it. I always wait until the rush is over. It's not like the plane will take off any quicker.

This happened a few years back with easyJet. We had booked priority (or whatever they call it) and was first on the bus. But then they loaded a load of non priority who happened to get the extra leg room seats (5 hour flight from sharm). Anyway one guy took it upon himself to remove one of said persons from the seat and found himself in police Van.
They finally told the non priority passengers to get off and wait for us smug buggers

No, but if you sit near an exit you will get off quicker - if the plane is front exiting only then back vs front can make a big difference to where you are in the immigration queue

How would you know if it's only front exiting?
I always try to sit at the back (planes don't reverse into mountains) and can't remember the last time the back doors weren't open for disembarking. Airlines like Ryanair and Easyjet rely on fast turnaround times, two doors is always better than 1.

You can't remember an air-bridge disembark?  Half my recent flights (with airlines Easyjet and Ryanair) disembarked off the front only via the bridge.  Mountain vs. passport queue - I guess we all have our own assessment of the odds

I think it's been 16 flights this year with either Easyjet or Ryanair, all of which I walked on and off the stairs at the back. Even a statistician would say those are pretty healthy odds.

The mountain thing was planted in my head many years ago by Billy Connolly, but asking for a seat at the rear of the plane is purely down to practical reasons. I avoid the (c)rush to get on at the front and get off the plane just as quickly as those at the front.

I've been on quite a few flights and none have crashed - statisticians would say?

Fair dos - I guess we base a lot of things of our own experience.
