You only have to see the way many families shop on programmes such as 'eat well for less' to realise there's a great deal of work needs doing in educating people on how and what to buy, then to actually cook it - an increasingly lost art.

Because the EU won't accept GM crops.  Once we're out then we won't have that counter balance in play.

Yes - truly awful.  Most of the cows will never see a blade of grass in their lifetimes.  I'm on a pension and yet I always try to buy animal welfare friendly products including organics.

So we already have these farms and are running GM trials and have been doing so before the referendum.  If you want to argue that this process may accelerate when we leave the EU then you may have a point, but it is happening anyway, regardless of Brexit.

You often see people say it's cheaper to eat junk food on these forums. Yet I've ways found it's much cheaper to make your own, you just need an investment in time instead of money.

We rarely eat anything we haven't made ourselves, yet we spend considerably less on food than anyone else I know.

There are a lot of good people trying to stop it and simply holding up your hands and saying well it's happening anyway is somewhat defeatist don't you think?

But not at the expense of farming welfare standards. That should never be negotiable. Also as already said, people can make significant savings by preparing and cooking meals from scratch rather than buying convenience foods.

Since
Since when did cross hybridisation include putting something from a living creature into a plant?

Not enough is known about the knock on effects on insects and soil organisms.

Fortunately. The British public appear to be against GM according to most surveys.
