"It is very surprising to writers in Hollywood that a woman can have a great career" or is it?

I find this film heart-warming and it made me smile. I am neither a mum, nor living in America and yet the concept of the "juggler-mum" is not foreign to me.

Sarah Jessica Parker portrays such a "juggler-mum". Kids, husband, career, friends, colleagues it is all in a constant rotation and demanding attention and care. And she attends and cares, sometimes successfully, sometimes not - nothing over surprising. I don't also find it surprising that there were other characters portrayed - of the perfect housewife, of the career-obsessed lady, of the low-life of a colleague ready to push you every time you slip. They are not a result of someone's free imagination, they do exist.

This film does not state that a woman cannot have a great career or a great family. With some exaggerations and other examples, it just shows that having one great thing is difficult, and balancing between two or more requires practice and dedication, plus that it is extra difficult. Just like juggling.

And yes, many women do it, not only in the U.S. but all around the world. But can you imagine squeezing more than 3 such women within this film? What's the point in that? I am not gonna go into the flaws of the movie (they are there, no worries), and I was aware of them even before I began watching. Yet, I was entertained and happy when the unnecessary drama was avoided. Everything was kept clean and relatively realistic. And Nat King Cole's song in the end made me sing along.

OK, I am not gonna recommend this film to my dad.
