The reviews of the new kindle that I've seen rate it quite a bit lower than the nexus from a user point of view.

What do you guys think about the latest Kindle Paperwhite?

Was annoyed when they were announced as US only. Then 1hr after news on UK release I had my per-order in and it's being dispatched on Wednesday.

Just sold my 3G Keyboard ready for this.

Interested in your thoughts as I have a keyboard kindle.

Well its been shipped but I only went for SuperSaver free delivery so estimated delivery is Monday but may be lucky and get it Friday data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Wife still has a Kindle Keyboard so can still compare directly.

My Paperwhite just arrived which is amazing considering I selected free SuperSaver and estimated delivery next week data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

First impressions.....Wow

Can't imagine anywhere you would need full screen brightness unless you wanted to use it as a Torch data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Will have light off in normal daylight reading and likely on less than 1/3rd setting at night.

Noticeably sharper font clarity with the higher resolution and more contrast. Comic easier to read with higher dpi. Touch screen is accurate, fast and responsive, nearly as good as a Tablet and massive jump in usabilty over the 3G Keyboard I had.

Weight/size is perfect but choice of dull polished black front trim is a slight finger magnet, back is the perfect slight rubberised plastic.

Amazon have a problem with the version becuase I can't honestly think how it can get any better! The perfect electronic book IMO. Only a colour e-ink could improve this and then only for comics.

Whats the frontend like? The same as the keyboard version?

How did you manage your collection on the keyboard version, Calibre? How does this comapre? I love my kindle, but the front end is crying out to be redone. I want to flick through my books in a coverflow way, have a book open at the cover and actually behave more like a real book than reading a pdf (Yes I understand the irony data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

I created a few folders but actually don't keep the books on the kindle once I've read them so usually have less than 10 books on it.

I used Calibre last night to send a Comic to it via email before it even arrived and soon as I connected it to works wifi this morning the comic was there plus 4 other books on Kindle store I sent to it. The Paperwhite was automatically added to my Kindle account yesterday. I do tend to buy all my books through Kindle store so don't use Calibre much as I make big use of Whispersync.

Totally different front end now based on cover art similar to Kindle on a Tablet. Not had time to test that much until lunch time. Will do some photos at lunch if I get chance.
