Was starting to think about the iPad for comics the other day for the exact reasons you have pointed out. Not sure I would go for it though. I am bound to leave it on the train at some point. Theres something a little underwhelming about a digital copy too.

EDIT: Got excited at that Civil War reading list Stuart but its for all the individual comics not the TPBs. Just hopping on Google now to see if there is something for TPBS. I'm with Paulie, the comic reading list is data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

EDIT EDIT: Oh Wow ! Just found this: http://tplist.millarworld.net/

Mate that link is utterly superb (the best combination of words I use to describe things without using naughty words) data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I have an iPhone app for Comics (Comic Zeal) and like it alot, but its just not suitable - being too small to comfortably read on.

I also am one of those that really really like a physical product and thought I would never ever! read a book on an electronic device. I still doubt I will for a book, but a comic - the thought of being able to pick up a device that contains a large portion of the Silver Age makes me moist data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Not too many of the big Marvel Events listed either - I'll throw my oar in, since Civil War's been mentioned - follow on from that with Illuminati/Planet Hulk/World War Hulk - awesome series, worth reading.

Secret Invasion charts an invasion of Earth by the Skrull, having taken over the identities of many of the world's superheros - who can you trust when you don't know who's a teammate and who might be a shapeshifting alien spy?

Dark Reign - after the shocking events at the end of the Secret Invasion, Norman Osborn, aka the Green Goblin, has taken over as director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he's got access to all of Tony Stark's toys, and he's got a new team of Avengers - who look a lot like the old Avengers, but they're not. Bullseye is wearing Hawkeye's costume, Moonstone is masquerading as Ms Marvel, even our beloved Spider-Man is Back in Black - Venom. Even Sentry, possibly the most powerful being in the universe, is becoming unhinged - and who is the Iron Patriot? Don't miss the Dark Avengers...

... and coming soon....

Siege - as Norman Osborn continues his Dark Reign, teetering on the brink of madness, one thing remains out of his control - Asgard. I'm only speculating here, but I think we're going to be in for one hell of story.

I have a beastly pile of X-Men I will no doubt be enthusing about once I get round to reading them.

NewMan Publish time 25-11-2019 04:43:00

Hope X-Cutioners Song is among them? How about the Dark Phoenix Saga?

Hillskill Publish time 25-11-2019 04:43:01

No. I take it they are recommended then ? TBH I had already planned to dip into the biggest TPB collections. To read everything would cost a fortune and take forever.

NewMan Publish time 25-11-2019 04:43:01

Very. Dark Phoenix is simply one of the greatest stories ever told in X-Men, X-Cutioner's song not being far behind as possibly the greatest X-Crossover of all time...

Brilliant. Thanks. Shoved both of them straight onto my Wishlist data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
