Political suicide for Labour to do this as they themselves have been called out by May to do just that . Rubbish and weak willed would be to oppose it tomorrow for most of the electorate.

Why? Have you actually ever read the act?

And that indeed should be the stumbling point
Unfortunately there are too many spineless politicians unable/unwilling to challenge this decision.

I agree with you on that one...Anything can happen, the worst thing for any party or any support to do is to assume it will go their way....
I just really hope (likely in vain) that these will be positive campaigns. I really don't want to hear why not to vote for the other parties. I'd like to hear from the parties why to vote for them.

I disagree. They have nothing to gain and everything to lose by agreeing to this. If they vote against the Government tomorrow, people won't protest on the streets, they'll look back to the Tories to continue with Brexit negotiations as they have been since June 23rd.
Meanwhile May can't very well criticise Labour (or other parties) for not agreeing to an election when she herself or her spokesperson has said (most recently just 3 or 4 weeks ago) that an early election was pointless, a distraction and never going to happen.

Well what's the point in it if the reason we're having an election is the precise reason the Act was brought in to prevent?

As I said, have you actually read the act data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 The act makes provision for exactly this situation (and a few other possibilities...), so no it did not bring it in to prevent this situation at all.

Is anyone any the wiser of what Brexit means
Or indeed the consequences of Brexit.
Surely common sense would say that it should have already been agreed and written into Article 50
Then at least the country would have known what it voted for in the referendum

Why though, it has to go through Parliamentary ptocces and be voted for before the fixed term can be changed for a GE.I see no problem as it has to be ratified before bringing it to the electorate.
