But Labour have been calling for an early election since the day she became PM - if they do a U-turn now they will look incredibly daft.

Looking back over the last 9 months, it seems the only stones left to throw at TM were the fact that she is 'unelected' and that she had no mandate for her brexit plans.

And Theresa May doesn't look daft even though she has done the same (in terms of a U-turn)? She has repeatedly said it would be a pointless distraction to the country since she was made party leader and PM.
The electorate forget such u-turns in the blink of an eye and 3 years is a very long time to enable the public to not care about such a u-turn by Labour as you see it.

Well considering that even now I do not know what Labour wants on EU and all the Lib Dems want is a second reforendum data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7. Only one party is actually striving to achieve that unicorn says a lot for me.

Perhaps she has been convinced by the arguments of the opposition?
Oh come on. If Labour turned down the chance of an election after calling for one for the past 9 months then who would listen to them for the next 3 years - any criticism they put forward would be swatted aside simply by saying that they had the chance to put their arguments before the electorate but refused.

The one truly incredible thing about all of this is she kept her cards so close to her chest that even she didn't know how to bet.
At the weekend we were talking about her resigning, then she steps up and hits us with this!
More perfect politics, she's making it a habit. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Sorry mate missed that one, getting the job done is easy . It means having a strong government with a solid mandate to get the best possible deal on brexit . This by no way means a hard brexit , just the strength for negotiations that at this time are weak with the majority and dated manifesto that May has to work with.
This is job done , brexit is brexit so to say. It would be wrong for the UK to go into negotiations in this position. Unless that is one wants us to fall on our arse and beg for redemption ? , please sir can I have some more .
