The windows 10 backup program is driving me nuts. I thought I'd give it a go rather than Ease US free but in my experience it's a nightmare to configure what I want to backup and can't cope with more than one drive as a backup drive. I'd really appreciate knowing what you guys use? Is Acronis the program to beat?

First gaming PC build parts ordered!

Going in a Cooltek-G3 case, with a 7950 initially (to be replaced by a 970/980)

Hopefully I haven't missed a trick? Wanted the 6600K really, but got a great deal on the 6600 via the ebay 20% discount on Thurs.

(going to add a 2nd 8GB stick as well fairly soon, just wanted to keep the initial build cost down)

Thoughts?

Right first problem (a little advice if I may?)...

The cooler Master Evo 212 and my case have turned up, and it doesnt look like it will fit to me.The case is a HTPC one, but still roughly the same size as a normal tower (full ATX etc), just on its side.Is the EVO 212 an overly large cooler, as I assume it has to sit on the mobo/CPU, and it is already longer than the case is wide!

Help!

ChuckMountain Publish time 27-11-2019 04:23:28

I would say that case is shorter in height than a normal PC case is wide though obviously there are lots of cases.

Its not going to fit given the fan is 159mm tall before motherboard standoff and the case is 151mm assuming the specs on the web are correct.

The cooler size is relative yes its bigger than stock clearly but there are bigger cools out there.

For a HTPC you might want to go with a fan orientating blowing down onto the motherboard

something like this is a similar price though haven't checked how good it is

There are more available.

Also I appreciate the case doesn't appear to be on PC part picker but it would have normally warned you in this case that the case was too small for the selected heatsink.
