Microsoft Band, the smart band powered by Microsoft Health

Looks very good to me if the rumours are true, US release today apparently!

I new there was one in the works from Microsoft, but this was really out of the blue.

Actually very impressed, does a lot, nice size/shape, good design making use of all the space, 10 sensor body monitoring and a very good price.

And of course the additional killer of working across all 3 major phone formats.

I hope it will translate into £149 over here. That would be an excellent price point.

It seems to be designed to wear on the inside of the wrist, which puts me off slightly.

Edit: nice review here

It comes in small, medium and large which I didn't learn on the MS website!

Looks like a nice piece of kit, just a shame availability seems so limited.

Interested in this. no release date for outside the US though

Very interested in this and am so glad it works across all 3 mobile platforms. Best decision MS made for this I think.

Any ideas on price and release for the UK?

There hasn't been any announcement yet.

I have one. Bought for me in NYC the other day. It is quite cool actually, though I had to manually download the Health app onto my Lumia 930 (on O2) and then switch airplane mode on before setting the region to USA with to manually install the app, then switching the region back again to UK.

Cortana is now actually much more useful as its just a matter of pressing the button on the band for 2 secs and speaking into it.

No cycling mode yet. But heart rate monitoring is cool as is gps tracking. Sleep tracking is actually much more interesting than I thought it would be.

I gave mine a good test today using it at Twickenham when photographing the rugby - thought it would be interesting to see how my heart rate changed during the day. I will write this up on my blog tomorrow - very interesting results and now I know why I'm so knackered at the end of a day's shooting.

Please do I'm very interested in the band and would love to read a little user review on it if you don't mind sharing your thoughts.

What size did you get?

So with gps, can you go out for a run without your phone? And then upload the data on to your phone when you return home?
