Superb adaptation of the book.

Excellent BBC adaptation of the John Wyndham book that had me hooked from the very first episode when I was a child.  Forget the film which merely used the Triffids as stock monsters to invade the Earth - in the series the Triffids are the artificially created (and farmed) creatures they were in the novel.

With scenes of bewildered and blinded people wandering aimlessly through the streets while Triffids literally suck the life from bodies with their stalks - this is one series I would love to own on video - it is nearly 20 years since it was on the TV!
