Being a single lane does not preclude it being a dual Carriageway.

I’d say it is flipping dangerous to undertake when people clearly have no clue which lane they need to be in due to the switching. Just imagine you going down there at 70mph happily undertaking and the slower queue decides to change direction.

To save a couple of seconds it’s not worth the risk imho.

Come to Australia where it is legal to pass on the left on multi lane roads in all states and territories. Other lane discipline is slightly worse than described  in this thread and the keep left unless overtaking rule doesn’t quite say that unless there is a sign and if you interpret it that way. It seems to say you can’t stay In the right hand lane unless overtaking so pootling in the other lanes is ok.

All in all weaving at speed narrowly missing a
bumper or two is not only encouraged by the rules, it is the norm.

Australia is the reason cars have all round sensors and alarms if somebody is in your “blind spots” (read anywhere from 30 feet in front to 30 feet behind on either side of your car in your and all other lanes, which is where most drivers seem not to look)

Yup been there many a time...Speeds tend to be a lot slower though, roads also tend to be a lot wider...

Very true, maybe I should clarify that my earlier comments about safe undertaking only applied to two or more lanes in the direction of travel!
