Running watch - current best options?

I have a Garmin Fenix 3 HR but use an ANT enabled Garmin chest strap with it when I bother, the wrist hrm isn't that far off really.

To be honest I don't like running with music bouncing in my ears, I have tried it a couple of times and wasn't as aware of my surroundings as usual, so I don't bother with it.
