Running watch - current best options?

I'm using mpow cheetah v2, there the best headphones for exercise I've ever owned. Sound is excellent with comply foam tips.

I also own the magneto set but the wire is quite long and I had trouble with the fit when running.

With the cheetah aside from the obvious music I don't notice in wearing them, unbelievable price too at £14.99 from amazon.

I was looking at getting the Apple Watch 2 for my wife for Xmas for her running - seems to tick all the boxes with GPS, music storage and has built in Nike   app.
She doesn't want to run with her iPhone so this seems a good fit - quite expensive just for a running watch but I've looked at all the alternatives and there doesn't seem to be many options.

The Sony does look good although loading music onto it seems to be a pain if you don;t have an android device.
I can't see a Garmin watch that holds music as that would be a good option.

Oh yes forgot this thread - mini review:

Sony Watch - quick verdict - great.  Does GPS, music (sync across using Google Play Music), battery is good (two days including 30-40 minutes of GPS running), alerts good, good integration with phone for getting messages, playing music etc.  Also handy to have walking navigation on it via google maps.

Haven't found a perfect running app yet - missing Nike .  The apps I have used (er can't remember then names offhand) have been buggy - acknowledged as bugs by the author.  E.g. runs never appear online, or are partial, despite the watch having the right stats at the end of the run.

The main negative for me is the charging - would have been a lot better with wireless charging.  There is a fiddly port on the back with a rubber cover which feels like it may not last long, and the strap makes it tricky plug the cable in.  It doesn't need charging every day so that is something but this would be a big plus to be added to the next model.

Mpow Swift Bluetooth headphones.  Good - work - decent battery.  Downside - a little heavy so they bounce up and down with running which makes the music a little weird - may look into fixing them or getting some more 'attached' ones.

Think the Apple Watch will be top of my list but have the Sony on there as an alternative.
With Google Play Music can you sync music across that's on your PC?

Garmin vivoactive get's my vote , have you ever thought of running without music , it's a real game changer , it's difficult at first to get used to but in the logevity it really is better , concentrate on what you body is doing rather the what's banging  in your ears ..

I know I couldn't run without music plus we like the voice info you get from the Nike app. I'm happy running with the phone on my arm and wired headphones but the wife can't stand it.
She does have the old Nike GPS watch but it was never very good and meant she had to take an ipod out as well.

She will definitely want music and voice prompts. It's all leisure running anyway we've been doing for a few years - 5km 2-3 times a week
