This time we have a zombie western comedy! Yep, zombie virus spreads across the Old West when two cowboys, Elmer and Luke(James Denton and Chris Kattan) who get caught up in a minor fight over a floozy, land in jail, break out, and are pursued by the corrupt sheriff and his portly deputy, Claypool and Cletus(both eventually infected by the virus when Cletus is bit by a local who sucked out his wife and daughter's brains, Old Ben, who, in turn, gnaws on Claypool's hand). Elmer was a soldier, would like to be a dentist, but soon is on the lam with Luke who was betrayed by his "princess", the town prostitute. Elmer's a deserter who decided to take off with not only the money Claypool(Matt Besser) took from him, but the rest of the loot in his safe. They come across a pretty female Indian, Sue, Geronimo's niece no less, and the three form a partnership.
I can't help it, I find Chris Kattan funny, so sue me. Good-natured comedy, more than willing to please. Gore effects and zombie make-up brought to us courtesy of Robert Kurtzman(of KNB fame). After Claypool and Cletus feast on the members of their town, Luke, Elmer, and Sue are soon being hunted by an undead posse. With the army after Elmer, it's only a matter of time before they find him. It seems that the birth of the zombie curse comes from "bad medicine" created by none other than Geronimo himself! Luke nicknames the zombies Geronimonsters and a bullet to the head does not kill them. Chris Coppola, as Cletus, has the funniest scene, lamenting in anguish to Claypool over his dick falling off! Navi Rawat, as Sue, is able to hold her own with the heroes, as the tough and sassy Indian, engaging in sword fights with zombies, even beheading a few. Plenty of violence for gorehounds, including the expected feeding frenzies. The most bizarre scene could be when Sue must defend herself against a zombie whose skull was opened, a spoon sticking out of his brain after the one eating from it was interrupted! The finale shows Elmer, Luke, and Sue fending off not only Claypool and Cletus, but the zombie army(turned by C&C and their posse)inside a fort on a cliff overlooking the Grand Canyon. It seems that in order to break the curse, you must eat the flesh of the medicine man who started it.
