Yes, people, it is a SYFY hosted production so it is cheesy to a degree. That does not distract from the fact this is an absolutely amazing series. Cry and babble over the fact it came before Tim Burton's movie and whatever but it is still an amazing retelling. Using many references from the book "Alice Through the Looking Glass," and making it futuristic in a realistic sci-fi setting is a balancing act to say the least. This series managed it. The dialog was well written, which is rare to come by. The characters were amazing. Even the gradual development of the relationships of the characters was amazing and well done. Many people fell head over heels for the Mad Hatter and for good reason as he shone from the very first scene he was in. Even the main female, obviously named Alice, was not written weakly or to be a push over heroine. She knew black belt karate and used it well. She had her own inner motivation and showed her strength through out. this series deserves a lot more credit than it is getting. People need to get over their stupidity and give it a chance. It's brilliant. All in all this was a great retelling.
