I know this is about lease deals but...

Something i was thinking about (even though its well over a year away) was whether i would need a 2nd service on my leased ST.

The intervals are 12.5k or 1 year.  I'll get the first one done in a few months just prior to having it for a year (car will have 10k by then).  By the time the car goes back after year 2 it'll have between 16-19k on it so won't be due the service on mileage.  Maybe on time since it'll be 2 years.

Am i obliged to get the 2nd service done?

I enquired about this every thing last night with my lease broker. In your situation you will need to service the car again as it will be due its 2 year service regardless of mileage.

What you want to do is stretch out the first service by a week or two then arrange for collection of the car before this date the following year then you wont be liable for the second service.

My car was delivered on the 23rd March, I'm going to get it service most likely in the first week of April, then when the car goes back 23rd March 2016 or sooner it wont be due a service at the time of handing it back.

First thing i thought of was handing back (thought that might give me some insurance headaches as the last car i gave up just before the end of an insurance period meant i didn't get that years no claims) a couple of days early.

Not sure on stretching the first service out though.  If i get it done after the cars 1 year anniversary, would i not be breaching some other agreement?  Not sure when the official 1 year anniversary of the car officially is though as i don't have the log book.

I think just handing it back a couple of days prior to 2 years is the plan right now.

You can use this website to see the date first registered...
Check if a vehicle is taxed - GOV.UK

Ours was actually first registered on the 21st March, you have a few weeks on top of this to get it serviced without breaching any manufacturer terms.

Just checked Nissans T&C's and the grace period is 1 month or 1000 miles over.

Cheers

Just checked.  Car registered 6 days prior to me taking delivery.

A quick Google reveals some info about an unofficial 1 month leeway fro service schedules.

Will take a look at the service book tonight to see if it mentions anything specific.

My wife's Fiesta ST-3 arrived today via G2L, very pleased with them and the car during the ordering/delivery stages.

It's a bloody fast little thing!

Aye.  They're quite nippy eh.

Looks fantastic in black

While it's clean anyway

Car Leasing - Volkswagen Golf 2.0 Tsi R 300bhp 4WD 5dr

Fairly decent R deal (mileage is crap though).

Circa £7800 all in over the 2 years is not a million miles away from the crazy deals of last year.
