Each to their own but for the sake of £75 on something costing £14k it almost seems daft not to.

Of course if it was costing the £500 the dealer wanted then it might be a different thought process

Alot of people will never suffer a total loss with a newish car, I have and had gap. The car wasn't on finance so we wouldn't of owed any money but it was worth having.
I haven't had it since though but will be taking it out on the new lease.

If your car is worth a significant sum, then the >£100 cost is a bit of a no-brainer in the grand scheme of things, for the piece of mind.

I've realIsed that after reading this and other sources I'm going to purchase it.

I don't think I'd like to bridge the difference myself between what an insurance company decides to pay out and what is outstanding.

Did you sort your GAP insurance? I'm also now looking for a good policy for when my new car arrives. Anyone with any good suggestions?

Not just yet, though ALA or Click2Gap(?) seem favourable

Try Car GAP Insurance | Vehicle Replacement Insurance they were half the price of Ala. Ala will also price match them (they did for me when they were called MotorPocket). Win

Looked good until I read:

"The value of your vehicle does not exceed £50,000 at date of purchase;"

My soon-to-be-delivered cars has a ROTR price of.....
