Are there any options to cover your vehicle? You could ring.

I would ring Ala and blag it. They probably won't check small print and will match. Nothing to lose

May have to!  The Audi dealer is pushing their own RTI GAP policy but it's quite a bit more expensive that the likes of Click4gap and even ALA for RTV cover.  I'll need to read the small print as well because some RTI policies may exclude some extras on the vehicle, and some may look at ex-VAT values.  It's quite complicated now that I've started looking at it.  A document on the Association of British Insurers suggest that with a PCP/Finance purchase, that a "Return to Value Combined GAP Insurance" is probably worth considering.  The Audi dealer doesn't appear to offer that so may need to shop around!

Hi - my car on 2Y lease is say worth 20k. How much cover should I buy? £20k seems reasonable... but for £10-20 more I can get £30k. What did you guys do?

Bump....has anyone bought GAP insurance on a brand new car despite having fully comprehensive insurance that claims to replace your vehicle in the first 12 months? I think I’ve boght something from ALA that I may not need for 12 months

We did when we got our Leaf last year, but as you say, perhaps we didn't need it for year one.

I have gap and my insurance claims they will replace the car in the first year, but, I have never trusted insurance companies enough, so I play it safe, especially with the large amounts of money being mentioned. I have used ALA three times now and had excellent service so far, but no need to claim, thankfully.

Yes but as you can only take out GAP insurance in the first 6 months after purchase you have no choice.

Either you take it out now or never take it out.
