Further down the coast this morning. Left the 101 for a while and took a small coastal loop. Bit more beach time.

Bit of stretching.

Before reaching the Devil's Punchbowl.

Into the wine shop to sip some local produce. Bought a Pino.

Brightening up again.

Decided to stop over at Yachats. Ground floor on the cliff top, door opens out to our patio with a lovely view, and smell of the ocean etc..

Wife taking in the scenery, along with the wine we bought earlier

Into town last night for dinner. Dude playing the blues was good.

A look across the bay then back to the hotel to do some research.

Cloud in the last hour robbed us of a sunset pic.

This weekend is the Labor Day holiday so I thought it prudent to book ahead. Good call actually as there are limited options coming up on the Trivago app. Got sorted for Saturday and Sunday nights.

Allong the coast road and down the path to Thor's Well.

No shortage of beach in Oregon.

Filled up with fuel at Florence and left the coast behind heading inland. Found a spot by the river for a picnic lunch.

And a paddle in the clear river.

Saw a sign for a covered bridge. I love these.

Lots or vineyards and nectarine orchards in this area, and these are hazelnut.

The roads are almost empty considering it is a national holiday. Pulled in at Roseburg, which I had forward booked.

Headed for Crater Lake. Chose the Tiller Trail, scenic and no traffic. Stopped at the shop.

Before reaching Lost Creek Lake.

Chatted with a guy fishing. He told us to take a route off the main road so we could see this.

Back onto the main road to Crater Lake.

Followed the road around the rim. Lots of stops at the viewpoints.

This little fella got up close.

A view as we left the lake.

Checked into the hotel at Chiloquin. The tapwater smells of sulphur. Been like that since the mountain blew apparently. Lots of bottled water in the room

Edit: went in here for a steak in the restaurant. Lost a dollar in the slots Gambling ain't my thing.

This is as far south as we go. Plenty of aftershave and deodorant after my shower. Smell like a box of matches from the water. North on the 97 then pick up th Cascade Lakes Byway. Relaxing drive but you need to get off it to see places.
Off the main road.

To Lava Lake in the Forrest.

Old lava rock at the roadside.

Off the road again.

Then back on the Byway to Elk Lake for lunch.

Families enjoying the Labor Day holiday.

This guy is prepared for anything.

Stopped at Devil Lake.

More paddling was done.
