I've just finished (literaly) reading Whitechapel: The final stand of Sherlock Holmes. Whitechapel: The Final Stand of Sherlock Holmes eBook: Bernard Schaffer: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store

If you're a fan of the Conan-Doyle Holmes books, give this one a wide berth.  As a stand alone, it's not bad - but not the best book I've read this year.

Next one up on my Kindle is Spartacus The Gladiator by Ben Kane - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spartacus-The-Gladiator-ebook/dp/B00699XMMO/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1331786579&sr=1-1

Have read the Forgotten Legion trilogy and they were awesome so really looking forward to this one with a weekend off coming up.

Slowly going through the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time books. I swear they could have been half as short if he had spent less time describing what people was wearing in every second page...

Poor show Theydon
I've always had to read them straight away when I picked them up, loved the Genghis series.
Following on from my post earlier, I picked up "The COrner" for £2.50 on eBay & am about 60 of 600-odd pages into it. Off to bed to read for an hour or so in a minute

Agatha Christie - The murder at the vicarage

Wouldn't normally read something by the same author for two books in a row but had to pick something in a hurry this morning. My first Miss Marple and so far, so good!

You lot need to get onto Goodreads! A lot easier to keep up with what people are reading and see which books you all recommend.

Emperor, the Gods of War by Conn Iggulden. Great story teller, I've read the previous three books in the series. Just love anything to do with ancient Rome.

I'm currently working my way through the terry pratchett discworld series. As I've read a trilogy of his (diggers, trucks and wings) and I was literally laughing out lots, and I borrowed them out and everyone I borrowed them to started reading his discworld series too.

I'm currently on the 8th book, as I'm aware there are 39. I so far have 19 of them.
I'm really enjoying them.

Amazing books. I started reading them when I was given Lords & Ladies and was hooked. I've not read all of them yet but bought them as soon as a new one was released and also purchased the ones prior to Lords & Ladies as well as the Johnny Maxwell trilogy and Bromeliad trilogy.

I've recently put the whole collection on my kindle and I'm going to read from the first to the last as I've noticed he does mention characters from past books throughout the series.

Some brilliant characters though the whole series .

Love the Discworld novels,  Lords and Ladies is one of my all time faves.  The books that are centred around the witches and also the city watch are generally my favourites.  If you can check out Good Omens too,  its a standalone book written with Neil Gaiman.  Although a Discworld character makes a nice cameo.

Oh and I have just started reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, its part 2 of The Hunger Games trilogy.
