I'm doing a bit of a house refurb/makeover which starts in 2 weeks, and at the end of that I'll have a room filled only with books...so I may descend into complete geekdom and post some photos

Mostly my collection consists of paperbacks, which (in general) I still find more readable than HBs ...but I love hardbacks

Sadly the Rivers of London was not a 1st, but the bloke was very helpful and I got my money back and kept the book. His was a 5th, and was in better condition than my slightly battered 6th. Moon was a 1st, and in better condition than my 1st, so overall I was happy. Still need a 1st Rivers though.....

How much did you pay for the aaronovitch books?  (the first two).  I've looked around but they go for a fortune!  I've just bought the S/D/L Whispers UnderGround, which is a bit silly considering I've not read the first two

I've decided to stop buying books from authors I've never read!  Although saying that, for most of these you're not paying above cover price if it's a new release.  Really impressed with Goldsboro books though...every title is absolutely pristine.  I've got quite a few pre-orders there!

btw, have you read Justin Cronin's The Passage?  And any of Mark Charan Newton's books?

I still dont have a 1st Rivers, but a very lovely 4th edition. My Moon is a 1st though, and the Underground is 1st & Signed.

Then I have a 6th of Rivers and another 1st (but not good condition) Moon.

Prices? Free, £9, £13, £2, £2 not including postage.

I will get the ones I want to keep all signed and lined at some point as well.

Somethings happened. Abebooks had some before and they were not that price and now they are £100 each. I bet the series has been picked up for TV......

Ouch!  Can't find them at good prices for love nor money.

Out of interest, I quite like the look of this, purely because it's a bit different.  Would this affect the value in a negative or positive way generally though? The Lies of Locke Lamora Scott Lynch Gollancz 1st / 1st HB Signed | eBay

Why not. Some people would class that as damaged, but then in the comics world, a signature is defacing a comic unless there is a proof of signature...so each to their own. There is a signed version on ebay at £75, but I dont like the look of the dust jacket, and also a proof edition for £40....

And there is a Moon hardback on ebay - signed, £30, not sure if 1st though, so check:

Pretty sure Moon isn't a 1st/1st...emailed the seller and they ignored me!  Not buying any more books atm though, I might just go for the Lynch one however.... (famous last words)...

lol!

I am fighting my urges to pick up a few more, and wait a little while or so and treat myself to a birthday book (or shelf full )

Hi,

Whilst I don't collect Signed or 1st Edition fiction books, I do collect Signed or 1st Edition of non-fiction books, predominantly film reference tomes by FAB Press - who produce some really lovely titles! (See here to get an idea.)

Apart from signed and/or numbered 1st Editions of many of the FAB Press books shown in the above list, I've also managed to get Dario Argento's signature on a copy of this.
