I don't think there is anything subtle in replacing the backstop elements with the new arrangements.

It's not as if they will have planted hidden changes through the document trying to get things past people. The deal is widely understood.

It's no coincidence that it's mainly remainers saying they want a further delay.

I get it.

It's just another means to delay leaving. Which is more important now that a credible deal is on the table.

Odd how all 27 other EU members have had no concerns about the timescale for ratification. It's mainly remain leaning MPs.

HOC agreed on the principles of the deal. Boris has progressed where May didn't. I'd say this is significant.

Not sure what you mean here?
It hasn't even passed the EU Parliament.

Our Parliament should be scrutinsing the bill, like how all other bills get the same treatment. Not sure why allocating eight weeks is a problem? May allocated roughly 8 weeks as well.

I've said before that I suspect there is a strong correlation between personal appetites for risk and how people voted. I would love to see some research on this because I think you're probably right, but not for the reasons you are saying. I think that remainers are probably by nature more cautious than leavers, and it feels like this is the crux of a lot of the conflict between the two. One group prefers to have lots of information to allow them to make an informed decision to minimise the harm, and the other is more content to wing it and take action, and deal with any consequences later. Neither perspective is wrong, in fact it's important to have a healthy conflict between the two. In my opinion this conflict results in a better all round result than stagnation on one side, or chaos on the other.

The Delay time should be used to properly debate the Deal the PM came up with and not be wasted on elections.... the debate is no longer brexit yes/no but what the UK will be after brexit as a place to live and work. Tories are using this to create ripoff UK V2.0
