It would appear that way - i suppose they finally had to realise that spending more than you earn is not a realistic policy!

You already answered this question - I think it's called a money tree...

If only we had austerity because it needs it like a patch on a rapidly deflating inner tube.

However it appears this people's assembly is built around expanding the state even more. The idea being of course to squeeze the rich until they bleed, then when they cannot be reached it will be bleed everyone else who isn't on benefits or, working in the public sector.

You socialists (and the cry baby capitalists) have got a shock around the corner. If you thought the bubble that was created by the housing market was big, then the coming crash will make that one look like a banger to a nuclear bomb. If we are still structurally exposed by the time that one hits the grid, then you can wave goodbye to the entire welfare state, your gold plated pension, assets and savings. The only ones getting saved will be the banks, central government and their crony friends.

Its why your concern about some of these minor cuts and shuffles is so pointless. You are trying to protect the sand castles in your near field vision. What's coming in the distance is an enormous tidal wave in which all the castles will be forgotten. People say we couldn't end up like Greece or Cyprus, but I believe they are wrong. It could be even worse.

no its just about ensuring everyone has their needs met and as we believe the state to do that, we apply the appropriate amount of pressure to ensure they do that. The rich of course must pay their due. They after all have sucked the blood out of the people they employ or are overpaid often ridiculously so.There redressing the balance becomes matter of great importance. But ist not just about them its also about all the upper income groups who pay the ludicrously low  rate of 45% when they should be paying 60%.Redistribution is the name of the game.
.I think once we nailed the lie and made people realise we are being led up the garden path people will demand that those who brought us to this situation are brought to account. The blood sucking leaches and inept and corrupt right wing politicians will be marched against a wall and made to beg forgiveness. Then we will demand pay back, all those large houses will be sold or turned into theme parks, large cars turned into scrap metal precious metals turned into ingots. In short the left will triumph
Those cuts, btw, are in no way minor if you are on the receiving end of them .

The sooner the tidal wave arrives, the better.

Fed up waiting for it to be honest.

All we get is irresponsible government after irresponsible government with terrible monetary policies yet no one or body is seemingly able to force them to address the dire situation.

Will we ever get a government that knows the meaning of the word austerity

Labour - never in a thousand years.
LD - ditto.
Conservatives - not as long as they have a lefty in charge.

Game Over.

Your rhetoric often sounds quite totalitarian.

No, that's not what will happen. The real leaches won't be touched, indeed they will be protected. The people that will get put in the grinder will be the small/medium business owners, their managers and workers. I'm sure you have read and seen enough of war to know the ones who bare the brunt. This is why there is fantastically high unemployment in Spain right now.

Unfortunately your belief in the state will not be rewarded. The central Government will bunker down and protect its own.

The left already triumphed, that's why we are where we are. It was the Bush administration that pledged tax payers money to support the American dream of home ownership for those who didn't have the funds to buy houses and removed all the regulations to let that happen. It was the Labour Government who removed the safety switch from UK banks and then, instead of cutting back on spending during the good times, instead they ignored Keynes, increased spending, Government and the welfare state.

Meanwhile we have the Neo-capitalists who pretend to go along with capitalism as long as they are getting fat on state protectionism and government contracts. These are the same people that scream for bailouts in exactly the same way that all others suddenly show their socialist side and hold their hands out. Its all socialist, it has been since the war.
