Remind me is who is the Home Secretary and who is the PM and what Corbyn has to do with any of that exactly?

Imagine if he'd used the term "gays" instead of "jews", for example.  You have brought that up after we had a similar discussion over your use of the term "gays" on another thread, for which you jumped down my throat.  Now it feels like you're jumping down everyone's throats because they haven't yet condemned a pretty shocking event at Cambridge University that they weren't aware of and for which the current Conservative Government and Home Secretary have to be held responsible.

Beyond that, I totally get your outrage.  I'd ban anyone with any AS background/history, although it becomes a more delicate, diplomatic issue with official visits by heads of state (was this one, it doesn't seem like it).

Does the Spanish Government behave in a similar way to Jewish people living there?

I get it. The names you mentioned are well known, with huge social media prominence (rather than famous to Joe Bloggs next door, unless he's some angry 30  incel on 4chan, living with his parents), so probably why they were quickly banned.

Jumping down peoples throats? A bit dramatic. Im just saddened at the lack of balance and equality by certain individuals when it comes to allowing certain racists to come into the UK and air their views.

Have you heard what Mahathir Mohamad has said about gays? And whats your problem with that term?

And what has Spain got to do with this?

"You like attacking posters, ive noticed"  -sound familiar?

I explained my problem with the term "gays" on the Corbyn thread.

The lack of balance and equality in the decisions of the Government to allow or ban certain individuals from entering the UK is a worry to me too.

The Spain thing - apologies, I thought you lived in Spain now.  If I'm wrong then no worries, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding on my part.

He doesn't like it if it is used or appears to be used in a derogatory or dismissive manner.

Ok this was your response to me regarding to my use of the term “gay”.

“Did you just use the term, "gays"? As in, there's a bunch of "gays". Or I am hanging around with "gays"? Perhaps, some of my best friends are "gays"? My personal fave, "That Pride Parade last weekend. You realise its full of "gays", don't you?"

I freely admit having grown up in the late seventies and through the eighties, at school we threw around homophobic slurs like they were going out of fashion (I'm sure it being an all-boys school with a gay headmaster that was murdered by a male prostitute had nothing at all to do with it) but I haven't heard the LGBT  community referred to as "gays" since round the time we were teasing some poor unfortunate person (for which I am no doubt going to hell in a hand cart and I deeply regret) after games in 1990.”

You say that you havent heard the LGBT  community referred to as gays since the 90’s. What does the “G” in LGBT  refer to?

So why does my best male mate in his mid 50’s proudly tell people he is gay? Why do my other gay friends describe themselves with pride that way?

In fact why do we call it Gay Pride.

Thats his mind at work not mine...

The issue was with grouping people together and labelling them “Gays”, in a similar way that someone may find calling a group of Jewish people “Jews”.  I don’t think the issue is with the term “Gay”.
