If Labour promises a new EU referendum, would you vote for them?

Brexit is what was voted for (some may call it Hard Brexit I find that a weird term), and must be pursued. Now if during the same period a trade and or customs deal can be negotiated (some call that Soft Brexit, I find that a weird term) then great. But that wasn't what the primary objective is.

Exactly. History has been re-written after we voted to leave. People like Faron regularly say the country did not vote for a hard Brexit.

Before the vote, there was no suggestion of a soft or 'hard Brexit'. The term hadn't even been invented because no one thought we would leave. The leavers just wanted out- with a suggestion that we might eventually enter into a deal with the EU as it would suit both parties.

With established politicians (some of whom were in govt) of the official Vote Leave campaign claiming we could stay in both the single market and customs union (forgetting the NHS rhetoric), history certainly is now being rewritten about the Brexit we voted for!

But it is true isn't it? We could if that is what is being negotiated...It wasn't the question on the referendum though....

In fairness you can't really hold vote leave responsible for the stance that the EU took within hours of the result being announced.

Google 'hard brexit or no brexit' and it's not Theresa May quotes that you'll be reading.

It's all just posturing for now, Tusk threw down the gauntlet and TM picked it up.
We've got two years of negotiations now for everybody involved to find a deal that gives the UK the same access to the single market it had prior to Brexit, but which looks unattractive enough to be sold as 'that's what you get if you dare to leave' by the EU to it's remaining captives.

But of course it is the EU that has ruled that out with their hardline stance that the four freedoms are indivisible.

Plus membership of the single market rules out the ability to sign our own trade deals.

And of course it was primarily the remain camp that said leaving the EU meant leaving the single market.

We would be wise to use it's proper name though as that gives it away. Life will go on after we leave the internal market.

Who? I am struggling to think of anyone in the campaign on either side that said this would be the case.

Hmm I don't recall CMD being part of Vote Leave. Wasn't most of his campaigning derided as Project Fear by the other side?
