he is correct in as much as that is what is happening but he also recognises something is wrong so it's up to is to elect the right government to force the right changes

LOL - I actually agree with you. There is no market rate for the BBC. The other media companies operate in a competitive market where failure means the closure of the business. The BBC are financed through taxation, so the rate of pay they are able to afford, bears no resemblance to market forces.
