Yes interestingly the success rate has also gone down. There was a discussion with lawyers on LBC about this. They said there was a definite decline in success rate, due to those who didn't have a case are not proceeding, yet those with a not so strong case, but convinced of their own rights they still proceed and it ends nowhere...

Why so? Everyone has got a credit card, or family who can help them out.

I've not got a credit card

If everyone had access to £1000 I doubt there'd be so many payday loan companies around.

Not all cases cost a grand either, it starts much cheaper...I prefer a deterrent with some vested interest. Listening to the lawyers on LBC it was already clear that they were suggesting that people may as well try a claim as it doesn't cost them anything....One I found amazing especially, at no point did the chap mention anything, but then he asked whether he was from an ethnic background and then suggested he should try a discrimination approach; its free anyway

If you just lost your job regardless of the perceived righteousness of your cause, you'd have to be very irresponsible to drop £1K on a credit card or take a family loan when you have no means to repay that debt.

Yet, at the other end of the job market, failing CEOs get million pound "golden parachute" payments for doing a terrible job.

This law dis proportionally targeted poor people.

Please do show the evidence. The statistics do not suggest that at all.

Yep, you get a bigger payout for racial or sexual discrimination than you do for straightforward wrongful dismissal
.
Surely if you are convinced of the righteousness of your case, there's not much of a risk?
