No. More than likely they need to divert money into building/buying an atomic bomb. In case Iran tests a nuclear device.... Fun times in the Middle East.

But that would mean another member of the Saudi royal family could use it to take control.

They will just buy one off the shelf from Pakistan, believe they are already in discussions about it.

They have an agreement with them that if the situation arises they can buy them off the shelf from Pakistan. What Israel would do in this case is debatable. They will not accept another Nuclear armed state in the middle east so you would think they would hit the Saudis. Now that would cause a real storm in the middle east.

Always difficult to guess the likely Israeli reaction, however I don't believe they would hit the Saudis. Saudi see Iran as their main target. Iran is also Israel's main focus.

Israel won't hit Saudi Arabia. They have a common enemy and it's been reported in the past that the Saudi's will turn a blind eye to Israeli fighter jets passing through it's airspace on the way to an attack on Iranian nuclear sites. But I believe it's way too late for Israel to do that and as it is the Iranians have placed the nuclear sites in areas either of religious significance or areas that are heavily populated. They done it to provoke popular anti Israeli sentiment amongst the Iranian population if Israel did attack.
