All working fine here. Could it be an issue with your router?

Yeah I've had that a couple of times myself. But only one of them.  Going to contact NEST on Monday to see what they say.

Everything else working fine with the router, including two nest protects. It's a virgin super hub 1.
The stat keeps saying its offline on the iphone app. If I check the connection settings on the stat itself it says it's connected and after doing so it's back online.
I have just checked the nest support site and it suggests having security set to WPA 2, mines set to WPA AUTO.

Hi all. New to this forum and it all makes great reading. I've just purchased the Nest t-stat but waiting on delivery and install. I had a question though as it may decide whether it not I make another purchase - my existing t stat is on a wall by the front door, and will only register me being home when I enter or leave. So I was going to purchase a second, to have in the living room where it can "see" I'm in mostly. Would 2 nests link with one heat link? And would they both update when one is turned up/down?  I've read the .com but doesn't really clear it up for me. Anyone else got this arrangement?

I have 2 nest thermostats for two zones one upstairs on down. They each come with a heat link so I had two installed upstairs hidden in the airing cupboard. The boiler is downstairs in the utility room.

Another way for nest to know ur home is if you have any wired Nests protects or a Harmony Ultimate or Touch with smart hub. These all sense if someone is home or not and work in combination with the nest thermostat.

Wow thank you for speedy reply! I've ordered 3 protects at the same time - I knew they communicated in the event of the alarm sounding. But I didn't know they registered your presence too - that is awesome and just saved me some money! Thanks Mr X!  Although this presence thing won't work with my Irobot Roomba when I'm out.  Yea, I'm lazy! Waiting for the update for nest to upload geofencing like the Honeywell Lyric. That's a smart tool!

Another question mr x - I notice from an earlier post of yours you have shown your ui with the 2 stats. One up one down as you say. How come the temperatures differ?  Presumably one heat link will keep on until it reaches it's temp - regardless of the temp of the other heat link/nest. Would this not extend the heat time, making the zone (already at the desired temp) even hotter?

No probs. apparently it's only the wired Protects that do this not the battery ones, hopefully that's what you've ordered.
I've got 4 protects and the harmony ultimate so fully covered

Yep it's the wired I've ordered (phew). I've found some extra info on it now and the battery ones do too - but don't emit the signal as often to conserve power (about 50% less than the wired). Nice one
