Cartomisers are that cheap its not worth the hassle of cleaning them in my opinion.  They won't last forever just make sure you always have a good supply.

cheers for the advice, within the videos i did watch, thats the one method which you cant do for cartomisers, you cant take the cartridge and atomiser apart seperately but from what i can tell, most people bring water to a boil, then take it off the heat, toss in the cars and wait till its down around 40-45 degrees (cool enough to put hands in) and just leave them on paper towel to dry overnight?

You're welcome. It all depends on whether you stick with the cartomiser system.

For me, they were too expensive. Like CFH said they are a hassle. With the tank systems, you refill a tank which is separate from the atomiser. Look after the atty and charge the batteries and you are good to go.

Don't worry though as it is all a learning process you will soon find a system that suits you and your vaping style.

Also when you fill 1st time let it sit a while to make sure everything is wet with e-liquid before vaping as you can wreck stuff quick when its dry

I just want to say a big thank you to Bill Hicks for starting this thread and for all the other contributors that have chipped in with informationa and advice.

Thanks to you all, I am now the proud owner of a Lava Tube and a couple of SD keyrings.

I ususally smoke 20-30 ciggs a day and you guys gave me the inspiration to get into vaping. I have now gone 4 days without a ciggie (still have a few packs on standby in case of "emergencies") and have no desire to go back to them. I've even been out and about in the car a couple of times this weekend and left the cigs indoors, something I would never have been able to contemplate previously.

I feel sort of "liberated" although I find myself fretting a bit about batteries being charged, how much juice I have etc! I'm sure the anxiety will reduce after I get a bit more used to the kit.

I've even persuaded SWMBO to abandon the cigs and have ordered her a Lava Tube and SDK as well!

I've now got the challenge of going to work with the ECig kit now the Bank Holiday is almost over - hope I can make it work!

Thanks again guys - this could [-]change[/-] save my life

Loved reading these ecigs posts.
To all the people who have been using them for a while now, what would you recommend for a 1st  time buyer? It seems to be that lavatube is the way to go but I'm a bit confused with regards to liquids, batteries, tips and adaptors.
I'm a smoker (18 yrs) who can quit but I always go back to the fags every couple of weeks, I hold my hands up and admit I've got no willpower because I do enjoy a smoke.
Ecigs have appealed to me for a long time but I want someone to say "you need this and you need that".

Cheers

Leo

If you want something more similar to the standard analogues then once I've had a go with the 510 style e cig from jacvapour I'll point you in their direction, I stayed away from the lava tube because it was just too big and bulky for my liking.... I wanted something which looks feels and  vapes like the real thing and it even has a charging case the size of a standard pack of 20 .

Awesome!!

I've moved onto Lave Tube and SD keyring combo very good!!

What are you using with the Lava Tube?  I've just ordered 20 cartomisers filled with juice from SD for the keyring. Pre-filled ones vape longer than self filled I find.

Cant wait for my Puff Diddy tank to arrive for my Lave Tube
