That may have been an error, As a case fan? Gentle typhoons aren't great as case fans, they're one of the best rad fans

Sorry I have to disagree with you there. If you quantify "High flow" then the Scythe GT AP15's are low in comparison to other cheaper options.

Arctic F12 PWM
Air Flow F12: 74 CFM / 125.1 m3/h
£4.39
Arctic F12 PWM Case Fan - 120mm [AFACO-120P0-GBA01]

Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850 RPM
Air Flow at full speed (12V), CFM ±10% 58.0
£14.98
http://catalog.nidec-servo.com/digital/english/general/pdf/D1225C.pdf
Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850 RPM - 3 Pin [D1225C12B5AP-15]

High Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) fans for an exhaust or intake matters as it has to deal with shifting the highest amount of air possible with no restrictions from fans or heatsinks. Creating static pressure is what the Scythe AP15's are excellent at doing. They will move air, but not more than an F12 as an example which is 3 times cheaper.

Aye I wouldn't have known without the water cooling guys off heres knowledge, loosely talking; the low rpm (and by extension lower cfm) is something to keep an eye out for in the future as more suited for rads

You'd think that the F12 because of the price is crap, but it's not. I have one blowing air over the HD's. It shifts loads of air and is "quiet"
