my Shadow is up to level 15 now and i've just explored the bit after the prison with the things that look like goatmen, act like goatmen, but are called bearded something or others.. lucked out a bit earlier on in finding my first unique, some greaves which increase attack speed and cast speed, making my Shadow lightning fast now, especially considering my bow and one of my swords already had an attack speed buff on them.

Struggling a bit with my gems now though as i've got several blue gems i can't use due to lack of gem slots, so tomorrow's task will be to find some better armour/weapons with some blue gem slots!

tried using the items to change the slot colour? random so might not get what you want but worth a shot if its good armour your using, if its just standard I would wait til you find something really good

Well I've got my duellist up to 15 and just on the shipyard (need to get into the cave) - server was too flaky last night to play as it kept crashing when I got into cave.

I find I take a pounding in close when I get attacked (those teleporting pirates are a pain). Was using my bow mainly as I don't seem to do that much damage dual wielding.

Should you go for armour rating or evasion or a mix of both as best option?
I assumed evasion helps even in melee.

I was wondering the same about evasion. From one of the passive skills (that converts all evasion into armour) I'd say it depends on your play style. Personally I'm going to try evasion as its bloody annoying later in the game when you get stunned for half a second from a hit.

I think it's good to have a mix of all three if you can get it. Energy shield controls how much damage you can absorb before you start taking it, Armour controls how much damage is taken when you are hit, and evade determines whether you are hit at all. Having just evade would mean you'd not get hit as often, but when hit, you'd take massive damage. And having just Armour would mean you'd be totally unguarded against magic attacks.

Just started playing this tonight. It's not that bad for a freebie! I'm playing the witch and using zombies with some fireballs and traps. On the whole it's quite fun.

Started a marauder off now although I've had two BSODs so far. Can see the D2 comparisons. The skill tree is simply mental. Never seen anything like it.

There's a lot of potential here and it's free!!


EDIT: Managed to fix my BSODs. It was related to my Creative Sound Blaster card. Running the game with --softwareaudio fixed it.

Started playing this the other night, very good - I am mucking about with Characters at the moment, but have a Ranger called RobinHoodsMum that I am co-op playing with a mate and a Witch called HexyBiotch

Only level 9 so far with Ranger, and coop playing, but not found anything me and my Maurader mate cannot smash through in seconds - I fancy some Torchlight/Diablo really hard bosses.....

I won't spoil anything, but you will be pleased it reminds me very much of diablo 2 in the way the acts are set out.

I continued again last night on a level 18 dualist. Gets a bit boring solo but I'll add you to friends list

I'm loving this too. There is a very significant patch coming tomorrow with a lot of rebalancing and giving melee characters a buff. The amount of changes is so massive that every character will get a complete passive tree re-spec!!

I'm really looking forward to the new Onslaught mode 4 month ladder that starts on the 8th.

Frozen pulse has been nerfed!!!!

As I only play hardcore, I lost my level 30 Ice Spear/Fire Trapper last night to my own stupidity but I shall rebuild. My new fave is my two handed, heavy strike/leap/ground slam Marauder. He' a proper lump that I am hoping will get me through to the latter stages of the game.

ps I forgot to add if your looking for tough bosses, my first encounter with one of them took me totally off guard with an unexpected move. It was an early bath and the default league!
