You are missing the point tough...Imagine if they opened the 920 out to all networks though? Very well would turn into "competing with the s3 and ip5".

I suspect "very well" is nowhere near the sales of the s3 or ip5

I am not missing the point at all.  Are you suggesting Nokia have the manufacturing ability of Apple or Samsung??    Naturally, they decided to deal with a single carrier as they are unable to satisfy the kind of demand they would face were they with the lot!

The fact that Nokia are having problems meeting current demand shows the phone is selling better than they expected, therefor exceeding expectation, as an owner, I can see why.

Nobody is expecting them to outsell Apple and Samsung, nobody has those expectations.

Application for the free charger on Nokia Free Charger does not require a unique number from Phones4U since they have not been providing one with the handset.
In fact one does not even have to input the name/place of purchase, merely the date of purchase, and the phone's IMEI number.
So, unless Nokia is keeping a record of the IMEI numbers of all the phones supplied to Phones4U it would appear that the offer of a free charger is open to all owners of an 820/920.

I've took the plunge and actually purchased a Nokia Lumia 920 this afternoon. I was shopping and decided to have another look at it. All they had was the black model and I decided to get that. It cost me £409.99 from the ee shop which included a black wireless charging dock and free pair of WESC headphones.

First impressions very nice. Nokia Drive updated flawlessly. Dechecked some of the options on install "allow Microsoft to monitor text inputs" etc..

I think the operating system may take quite a bit of getting used to.

Does anyone know how to transfer my numbers that are synced to my old phones google account? Thanks

Did you get the dock there and then or was it a voucher? Is it locked to EE?

Yes got the dock there and then and the WESC headphones that they tell me are worth £100. It works with tmobile, orange, virgin. ee.

Not to bad thanks. Screen is gorgeous, typing a dream. Just blue toothed my numbers across. Apps are a let down, but hopefully that improves. I miss tunein radio.

TuneIn was (is?) on WP7, it probably just needs a small update to work on WP8.
