Can’t see that happening - “China decides to bankrupt itself by refusing to make tech stuff for the west”.

China has one of the strongest economies in the world but it is very dependent in making things for and selling things to the west.

Cheers,

Nigel

It won't happen I agree, but China has a massive industry on its own, huawei and honor are the biggest selling phones in that country, not apple or Samsung phones for example, they would be cutting their nose off to spite their face if they did it but it would put the cats amongst the pigeons so to speak as alot of tech we buy is made in China

A Chinese friend was telling me that the domestic market won’t be affected much for Huawei because most of the main affected apps (maps, gmail, google etc) are effectively banned in China anyway but overseas sales will tank.

Incidentally, those comparing the doings of the Chinese government to Google, Apple, Facebook etc are incredibly naive. There’s a huge difference between greedy tech companies and a controlling authoritarian government.

On a slight tangent, does anyone know which OS the Chinese TV makers such as Hisense use for their smart TVs?

So could uk Mobile phone providers be forced to offer a replacement or refund on P30/Pro handsets because of this?

No the p30 Pro will retain the play store etc, it's just for upcoming models that havnt been released yet, and could also mean no further updates to the newest version of android on your current Huawei phone
