All good here! ... keep 'em spinning I say , still my preferred medium and has been for 40 odd years now! It's only if something hasn't been released on vinyl I'll go for a CD  ...

Currently a few new ones on the go ...

I love streaming, it's just so easy. A couple of click wherever you are and you have sound, whether it be mp3, hi res or what ever.

Unfortunately that is also its major drawback.  There is no sence of occasion, no feeling of having to put in the time and effort . (The same reason people will spend a fortune buying tickets for a gig then stand in crowded sometimes unpleasant surrounding just for the occasion)

That to me is what vinyl is about, making the effort, putting up with the inconvenience and sometimes dip in quality to give a better and more enveloping experience.

Vinyl for me is so much more involving than CD and is my preferred way to properly listen to music. When I play a record it totally demands my attention, with an unboxy sound, superior spatial imaging and real dynamics, with most CDs I tend to lose interest after 15mins.
Vinyl sound quality was way better in the 70s and early 80s and I have about 550 prog and rock records from that era.
New digital vinyl sounds sh!te. My advice for what it's worth is not to invest in a turntable if you havn't already got a reasonable collection of well cared for analogue mastered records.                                           IMO of course.

The problem with vinyl is the cost, to match a good £1.5k SACD player you would need a turntable in the £10k's.... not worth the hassle or cost!
