There's always used, thats how I got mine, albeit when they were still current. As long as you don't overpay you get unlimited demo time & almost no loss if you decide they're not for you & resell.

Where do you go (other than on here) for used speakers that's trustworthy?
As a side note, my next door neighbour does exactly as you have suggested, buying used.
He goes through speakers like there's no tomorrow and loves it.
He's auditioning some Kef LS50's at present... Loves them. He's had some amazing speakers in his house but claims these LS50's are up there with the best he's heard... I'll have a listen when I get home at weekend.

The smaller PMCs don't mind being close to the front wall either.  My GB1s are only about 8cm away at their nearest point.  Not sure about their larger floor standers.

I'll put that to him, he's not bad like that... We've "borrowed" each others AV gear over the years so it's not out of the question.

It would also answer the question as to whether I actually NEED big floorstanders at all....

Hi i dont think you will go wroug with focal aria 926 floorstanders with you amp i have gloss black 1s and love them bass is very controlled mids and highs lovely very loud these play i am sure you will fall in love like i have ps lol never use bungs in any speakers those ports are there for a reason
