If you have an iPhone, you can add a US account and download the app, and then switch back to the UK App Store, although there isn't much point as the app doesn't do anything until it detects your band.

I actually ordered one of each size as soon as they were available to preorder!
I've got pretty puny wrists so didn't have a clue what size to order. In a moment of panic, thinking all preorders would be fulfilled, I ordered one of each.
Looking at the info in this thread it seems I'm gonna be a medium.
Really looking forward to getting this. Looks like a cool bit of kit

I ran a half marathon with mine yesterday, no issues at all, although I did have my trusty Garmin forerunner with me as well just in case!

How accurate is the gps tracker? I currently use bar mounted garmin device when mountain biking and like to check things like section times, average speed etc.
I know the band isn't going to replace my garmin as my garmin has full maps etc which I use after downloading GPX routes off the net but hoped the band would do the job if I didn't need to use my garmin for maps?

The GPS is as good as any device I've used, it locks quickly and didn't drop out at all. Compared to a Garmin, the information on screen is a little light, as my forerunner has space for 4 pieces of info, and my Garmin edge has space for 8, so it will struggle to replace those with the limited screen space.  Having heart rate monitoring on my wrist was good as I don't like running with a strap.

To be honest I don't really need to check the info on the fly, its more for analysis when I get back from a ride.

You'll be fine then, just make sure the battery is full before you set off, it's rated for about 5 hours with gps on so should be good enough for most runs/rides.

My MS order didn't go through as there was an issue with my card address.

I had a moment at the weekend when i thought, 'do i need one of these?'

All this wearable tech and fitness tracking has to actually do something to you for it to be worth it i think.

On Sunday i purposely walked to the local shop whereas i'd normally take the car, because i'd not taken many steps.

Now if i can see my steps right on my wrist, which you can with this, i think it WILL make me get up and move.

But part of me thinks its just a bit of a fad

I just like buying new toys
Saying that, I like what this device can already do and think it has lots of potential going forwards.
Must admit I'm quite looking forward to all things Microsoft at the min.
I'll soon have a fanboy status
